Keystone supports each student's unique strengths and interests with interactive and engaging high school courses that help them master lesson objectives, address learning gaps and continue their path to post-graduation success. Keystone high school program curriculum allows students to learn through interactive, multimedia-rich curriculum at their own pace.
Our goal is to set students up for success by placing them at the correct level in each subject they study. By taking the time to have your child complete one or more of the high school placement tests, you can better determine which level math or language arts course will be the best fit.
Review the guidelines and grading instructions below before taking any exams.
Students should take at least one hour to complete each high school placement exam in an area with little to no distractions. If they cannot complete the exam in one sitting, plan on finishing it in no more than two sessions.
Be sure to set up your child’s work area prior to beginning the exam and provide your child with paper and pencils so you don't have to search for these items when needed.
You can find each exam via the links below. Grammar and Composition is Keystone's foundation Language Arts course. To help determine if Grammar and Composition is where you should begin your Language Arts course of study, you can choose to take our Language Arts Placement Exam.
Please keep in mind these requirements when administering and taking the high school placement exams:
A parent, guardian, teacher, tutor or other educational professional may grade the exam using the following keys:
All answers should be marked as "Correct" or "Incorrect". One ("1") point should be awarded for each correct answer.
The essay question is worth 20 points. Use the essay table section of the answer key to determine the score. At the bottom of each page, record the total points awarded for that page.
Using the Results Table locate the exam by name. Next, locate the score that was achieved on the exam. Corresponding to this score, you will find a recommended action plan.
The results may indicate the need to complete another high school placement test. If so, choose the correct placement exam above and complete it as noted.
Once all appropriate exams have been completed, course selections can be made. Be sure to refer to the Results Table for additional suggestions for choosing courses. After choosing your courses, view the course catalog for course details.
